Guarda - alpine village in the Swiss canton of Grisons, in the lower valley of the Engadine. Thanks to a well-kept old houses, painted facades of which date back to the first half of the 17th century, a small village in Switzerland is recognized as a national treasure.
Its extraordinary beauty Guarda inspired artist Alois Karige, illustrator of the popular children's story "Shellenursli." House Ursli boy, the protagonist tale was painted in the likeness of a comely village houses. Since then, the village is home to a famous character. There is a special trail Shellenursli, walk along which will be an interesting adventure.
Guarda - the perfect place for a family holiday. In the winter season here open ski trails, children's ski lift, an ice rink and a cross tobbogana. Also observed in the village is an ancient tradition «Chalandamarz» - banish winter ringing cow bells, as did small Ursli.
Near the village is located Shellenursli Swiss National Park.
