Porrentruy Castle
Porrentruy Castle located in the small town of the same name in the Swiss canton of Jura, 70 kilometers west of the city of Basel. Erection chateau lasted from 13 to 18 century, its walls previously the residence of the bishops of Basel. Castle town Porrentruy is a fortress complex of buildings. Its interior decoration was destroyed by fire in the mid-16th century. In the northeastern part of the castle is a tower of the Rooster, built in the 17th century. The oldest part of the fortress, preserved to this day, is a 13th century tower Refu, climbing the steep steps to its summit can be a bird's-eye view of the complex and ancient structures surrounding its scenic surroundings.
