The Swiss Open-Air Museum Ballenberg

Over large areas of mountain landscape in Switzerland created the Open Air Museum. It is located in the commune of Hofstetten-Brienz, Canton Bern.
The museum presents the village culture, introduces visitors to the holidays, customs, traditions and crafts of the local population. In Ballenberg can visit the village houses about a hundred of the age of several hundred years. The oldest house was built in 1336.

Houses surround the old barns and stables with pets. The museum grows flora collected from all Swiss cantons. Of many plants produced drugs that are sold in the current historical pharmacy.

The museum is open from April to October. From station to Ballenberg Brienz can be reached by regular bus.
