Mount Säntis

Säntis is the most famous panoramic mountain of the Alpstein massif. It is located in the north-eastern part of Switzerland, in the commune of Wildhaus. In clear weather, from its viewing platforms you can enjoy stunning views of the six countries – Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Germany, Austria, France and Italy. The Swiss cantons of St Gallen, Appenzell Outer Rhodes and Appenzell Inner Rhodes meet there.

The mountain is very popular both in summer and winter. Säntis offers a lot of opportunities for a diverse rest. Here you can go skiing, hiking or Nordic walking, in warm season go hiking along the scheduled routes, explore surrounding landscapes, go horse riding and much more. From the city of Schwägalp you can take a funicular to get to the mountain. A tourist complex and a meteorological station are located on the top.

Säntis is located at a distance of about 10 kilometres south-west of the town of Appenzell.
