Exhibition Piet Mondrian - Barnett Newman - Dan Flavin, Basel
The Museum of Fine Art Basel held a major exhibition of abstract art, exemplified in the works of the three great artists of different generations. It will feature the works of Piet Mondrian (1872-1944), Barnett Newman (1905-1970), Dan Flavin (1933-1996).
They are all dedicated themselves to abstraction, but each has expressed her own spiritual and cultural traditions. Creating masterpieces they relied on the color, shape and rigor in the painting.
Piet Mondrian, together with Kandinsky and Malevich laid the foundation of abstract painting. It was Mondrian offered his own version of art - a combination of large rectangular planes, painted in primary colors of the spectrum.
Whereas for Barnett Newman's goal was to bring the paintings spontaneous expression of inner peace in the chaotic forms that are not organized by logical thinking.
A Dan Flavin is known for its sculptural objects and installations, created from Fluorescent lamps.
Abstract art is, first of all, playing, so artists will present their works to us the world as they see it.
